Cameron Hawthorn - High Performance Coach
Cameron Hawthorn is our High Performance Coach.
Cam is a dedicated and experienced high performance swim coach. He is extremely passionate about working with all levels of swimmers having developed many learn to swim and squad programs from inception. Cam is not only enthusiastic about his swimming club but swimming in Western Australia as a whole. He loves and continues to work closely with Swimming WA to provide coaching clinics, talent ID and coach mentoring across the State, especially throughout regional WA.
After spending the majority of his coaching career in NSW, he relocated to WA in 2018 to be Head Coach at Breakers Swim Club. When the opportunity arose to take on the high performance role at Tuart Hill Swim Club out of the iconic Scarborough Beach Pool, he couldn't let the opportunity pass him by.
Cam is a National Silver Level coach and is currently completing his Gold Licence through Swimming Australia and ASCTA. He also sits on the ASCTA WA Board. Cam has several State record holders, National finalists, National podium finishes as well as Master's world record holders to his name.
He prides himself on motivating his swimmers to reach their utmost potential but ensures they're having fun and are cared for in the process.
Travis Nederpelt - Director of Coaching
Travis is the Director of Coaching at Tuart Hill Swimming Club and represents the coaching team at a Committee level. As an athlete, Travis represented Australia at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic games, the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2011 FINA World Championships.
Since retiring from swimming, Travis has completed his Bachelor of Education, Bronze coaching licence and his Cert IV in Fitness. Travis holds a passion for development at all levels of swimming and he actively promotes participation and enjoyment of swimming in the community.
Sarah Petroff - Bronze Level Coach
Sarah is our Club Captain and has recently been accredited as a Bronze Level Coach. Sarah loves working with kids and has had a lot of experience with Learn To Swim programs throughout the Metropolitan Area. Sarah is still an active competitive swimmer and role model to all swimmers at our Club.
Sarah works with our Junior and Dolphins squads and also assists with the Adult Fitness Squad and our School Outreach Programme.
